Pokemon of the Day: Dragonite

I'm making an Advent calendar for myself! Last year I had a Disney Doorables one and it was fun because I never knew which character I might get as there was a large bank of characters I could possibly receive. This year, I decided to save some money by making one myself using some cheap little Pokemon figures where I also have no idea which ones I might get. Every day I open one, I'll feature them here as the Pokemon of the Day! But the package of little Pokemon hasn't arrived yet, so I'll have to catch up when they get here. Check back later to see who was Pokemon of the day for December 1!

The snow this past weekend has been very memorable and in a way set the mood for the whole weekend. My dad and I went out on Saturday night and driving in it as it fell was so beautiful. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it was almost nostalgic in some ways?

Otherwise, not much else has gone on this weekend. I'm still working on taking better care of myself and making more efforts towards that. I'm trying to drink more water, which I think I'm definitely doing better at. I want to eat better and exercise more, and I downloaded a food-tracking app to help me be more mindful about what I eat and give me more specific goals to work towards. I try not to listen to all the noise online about working out. It feels like people can be really discouraging and arrogant about fitness. So, I'm trying to keep it all self-driven based on what I actually enjoy doing or at least find the least objectionable. I find most exercise boring but I'm thinking more about my long term health for 20/30/40+ years from now. As far as looks go, I'm not trying to look like a body builder, I'd just like to be a little leaner. I'm already a healthy weight, I'd just like to be a little more in shape, you know?

Today was a work-from-home day and I just couldn't focus! I have a hard time working out of office. I have a harder time when I've been working on the same project for several days in a row. I'm starting to run out of steam on the curriculum plan I'm working on, especially because they keep changing things and then I have to go back and redo everything! Tomorrow I'll be back in office though, and I think I'll be able to get caught back up for the most part. I'll probably still be running behind on the curriculum plan tomorrow but that's how it goes sometimes. Hopefully I'll be able to get caught up on that this week too.

Anyway, these days I am thinking about the game I recently started playing. I pulled out my Nintendo Switch and got a game called Story of Seasons from the library. It's basically the same concept as Stardew Valley, though I don't think it's as well known even though it's been around much longer. You manage a farm, find someone from the village to marry, have a kid, yadda yadda. I don't think I'm doing it... right? I'm playing it like a game and not thinking of it like a farm, so I'm running out of money because I haven't planted enough crops. Oops. Hopefully I can fix that...

I have chosen to pursue a girl in the game named Lumina. She is very polite and pretty quiet and she plays the piano, which is pretty much exactly the type of girl I like in real life too! Like the farming, I'm not sure I'm doing it right though. This game is time sensitive, and if I don't romance her within the first year I think the way it works is I lose my chance! Moral of the story: I've gotta lock in.

There are other games in this series of games, and I added the newest one to my to-play list. I've already chosen which character I'll be going after- he's an artist. Probably not someone I'd go after in real life, but these things are usually safer in video games aren't they? We'll see how things go with my first attempt at a farming/dating(?) sim and maybe I'll try my hand at the next game too.

I really wanted to craft yesterday and today but ugh! It just didn't happen. I did manage to decide what I want to make and what materials I want to use. I read a fanfiction (something I almost never do these days!) with the Pokemon characters seeming to live in an apartment building together? I really like that concept, so I decided I'm going to make felt finger puppets and keep them in a little wooden crate that I'll decorate to look like their apartments! Thanks for the idea, Pinterest! I'll have two apartments in the crate - Ash and co. will live on the lower level and Team Rocket on the upper one. I'm excited to start making them, but I don't have the right colors to make pretty much anyone yet! Gah! I do not want to buy more materials! I really need to go through my fabric stash and get rid of all the ugly stuff I won't use... I do have enough yellow to make Pikachu though, so maybe I'll start with him. I probably won't get to him tonight, but maybe I could spend a few minutes painting the exterior of the apartment tonight. We'll see! Anyway, that's my update for today.
